Upcoming incompatibility windows update

Microsoft is expected to release a feature update for Windows 10 tomorrow, Tuesday, April 10th, via Windows Updates. This update to Windows 10, version 1803, is expected to be incompatible with GO-Global versions 5.0.2.26121 and earlier. To provide compatibility with this release of Windows 10, GraphOn released GO-Global 5.0.2.26254 (host-update-5.0.2.b) earlier today through GO-Global’s Automatic Host Updates feature. This GO-Global Host Update changes two GO-Global files and can be installed on GO-Global 5.0.2.25782 and later. GO-Global Hosts running on Windows 10 and Windows Server 2016 that are configured with the default GO-Global Host Updates settings should automatically download and install the Global Host Update before Microsoft releases Windows 10 version 1803 tomorrow. Once installed, the GO-Global Host Update will be listed on the Updates tab of the Cluster Manager’s Host Options dialog box.

Customers who have the GO-Global Host running on Windows 10 and have disabled the Automatic Host Updates feature should download the GO-Global Host Update from the following location and install it manually before Windows Updates installs Windows 10 version 1803 on their GO-Global Hosts.

<Update> Incompatibility for Windows 10 (Updated)

Microsoft 2018-01 Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version 1607/1703/1709 released on January, 2018 installed on a GO-Global Host will cause incompatibility as shown in the support log – The version of NTOSKRNL.exe on this installation of Windows is incompatible.

A compatibility update has been released and should be automatically installed on Windows 10 hosts the next time the hosts check for updates as long as “Mandatory updates” is checked on the Updates tab of the Cluster Manager’s Host Options dialog.

By default, the Host will check every 6hrs. Once the auto-update gets applied, the Host will need to be manually rebooted in order to complete the update.

In order to tell if the Host has received this mandatory update, you just need to go to the Host and open the Cluster Manager. If the update has been applied, you will see a message.
